Movie marathon day

Today we had a movie marathon - a Terminator marathon. We started with Terminator and ended with Terminator Salvation. Payton didn't care for Salvation like he did the first three movies. Salvation didn't showcase 'the Terminator' like the first three did and was instead more of a film about humans. Humans, that's no fun.

Biggest hurdle jumped

In preparation for moving back to the States, the biggest hurdle was going to be selling my car. It turned out to be easy and sold the first day. I posted it yesterday morning for sale on the Neuchâtel International Club Yahoo group page and got four replies. Last night a man came by to look it over and committed to buying it. Now I just have to figure out how to transfer ownership. I think it will be as easy as taking a trip to the 'DMV'. Anyhow, potential problem solved. We'll be down to one car for our remaining months, but we'll manage. That inconvenience will probably burden Kathleen more than it will me.

Get well card

One of Payton's school friends wasn't well today and stayed home from school. When Payton got home he drew her a get well card and I emailed it to her mother.

Fending for ourselves

The center of our world went back to the world this morning, leaving us boys to fend for ourselves. Kathleen is attending some meetings in the USA related to her new job and will be gone about 10 days.

Before leaving Kathleen gave Payton a new Bionicle. After waking up this morning Payton put it together and then drew a picture of it to send to his mommy. He even included the model number should any of you readers out there want to get this one for your kid. I think he did a really good job here. He is shooting his paralyzing venom spear and firing spiky thornaxes. I know I am his Dad, but I think this is a very good drawing.

Face painting

Tonight we went to our friend's house and celebrated a couple of their birthdays. Both Christa and Katelyn recently had B-Days. Amazingly Parker laid still while Katelyn painted his face.

Day at the park

Today we went to a favorite park. First the boys had breakfast. Payton wanted to play dog.
Parker loves the slides. Unlike Payton who would only go down on his belly head first, Parker goes down the correct and safe way - sitting feet first.

New movie for the kids

Payton has become enamored with his new movie Ponyo. He watches it day after day. Parker sits in front of the TV and watches it also. It really is a pretty good movie. The Mom is a crazy driver - you just have to see for yourself.

See Parker jump and jump

Parker finds new ways to amuse himself and us as he develops into a toddler. His antics get rougher and tougher; with himself and Payton.

Last hurrah ski day?

Kathleen took Payton and Devin skiing this morning. No snow around Neuchâtel, but still plenty of it in the higher elevations. This may have been Payton's last ski day, but then again maybe not.

Springtime is near

This picture is from this past Monday. It had been fairly nice weather lately; upper 40's maybe 50. It was nice enough for the boys to play in the sandbox. Parker - as did Payton his age - loves the sandbox.

Getting ready for our cruises from Barcelona and Venice

We are starting our prep work for our upcoming cruises. Our first cruise will debark from Barcelona and head over to the northwest coast of Africa. We're going to have lunch at Rick's Cafe in Casablanca. We'll be driving to Barcelona. Our next cruise will debark from Venice and we'll cruise around the eastern Mediterranean. Last year's cruise was around the western Mediterranean.

We're taking the train to Venice. I was going to buy our train tickets online last night, but something didn't look right about the price. I decided to go to the train station today to buy them in person. Good thing I did - the price in person was $300 less than online. I knew that price didn't look right.
