Our little downhill racer

Kathleen took Payton to the ski slope today. She worked with him going up the lifts. Ya gotta master going up the hill before you can master coming down it. Tomorrow morning is Payton's regular day for lessons. Parker and I will be going this time to watch. Parker will be bundled up and pulled along on our new sled.

Dinner at McDonald's

Since Kathleen had to make some conference calls from home this evening, I took the boys to McDonald's for dinner.  Dinner choices for the three of us on a Friday night are slim.  The Mickey D's at Yverdon - about 25 minutes from home - is a good choice. They have food we'll all eat and there are indoor and outdoor play areas.

Another fresh snowfall

It just started snowing around the house - big wet snowflakes.  It may snow through the night, but probably won't last. Temperatures aren't expected to be below 30°. Payton is a tad under the weather so Parker and I bundled up to go outside and check things out.

Payton's 2009-10 school picture

Payton's school picture is done like he was in school back in the 30's or 40's.

Went sledding down our favorite hillside today

There is light snow around Neuchâtel, but up in the mountains there is plenty to sled on. We went with friends today to go sledding down our favorite hill. The snowfall in the mountains is just enough to go sledding, but it isn't quite enough for skiing. This was my first chance to try out our new sled. It's beefy enough to haul me down the hill, but you can't really steer it. It's built pretty well so I suspect this sled will last a lifetime. Payton is becoming an old salt at sledding. He'll go to the top of hill and race right down. I'm not sure if he is in control or not. He seems to steer around obstacles and hasn't anything or anyone yet.

I am a happy fan now!

I just stayed up 'til 1:30 in the morning to see the Chiefs open a can whoopass on the Broncos 44-24. The win knocked the Broncos out of the playoff picture. A good finish to a bad season. The Cincinnati Bengals game is on next, but I am going to bed. I am recording it so Kathleen, the boys and I can all watch it tomorrow night.

UPDATE: Watched the Cincy game the next night.  Glad I didn't stay up for it.  Cincy got whipped by the Jets 37-0.

Little Bengals fans

Tonight is the last regular season game for the Bengals. The boys are dressed and ready for the game. In our case 'tonight' means the middle of the night so we'll just watch the game tomorrow night at a reasonable hour. GO BENGALS! Knock those Jets out of the playoff race.Parker is running for his life. Payton is just going for the tackle.
