Will Parker captain the boat bed?

Surveillance photos of Payton's room show Parker making himself comfortable in the boat bed. On our upcoming cruises, Parker will for the first time sleep in a bed. He will be sleeping with his brother. We suspect that after successfully completing these training missions he will muscle his big brother out as Captain of the Boat Bed.

Carnival

Today starts the winter holidays for Payton's school. No school at all next week. Coincidentally the carnival came to town. How fortunate for us! It was a nice day, but a little on the cool side. Still, the sun was out and wind was calm. It was a good day to get out of the house.

To get the fun started Payton took his little brother on a small coaster ride. Nothing to hairy, just right for Parker. They rode this a few times before Parker tired of it. Payton finished off the tokens by himself.

Wondering what to do next, Kathleen suggested the bumper cars. Payton hasn't ridden bumper before so tickets were purchased and he and Kathleen stepped into the danger zone. Kathleen started out driving, but before long Payton was behind the wheel. He really enjoyed this ride. He was all smiles.

After the bumper cars we headed over to the fun house. Payton always likes running through it. This time it had a Mexico theme. The thing always seems to look different at each appearance. The artwork on it was pretty good; with one part being a little inappropriate for the kiddies.

This carnival didn't have the carny food you get in the States, but they did have cotton candy. We nibbled on the big hair ball while looking for the next thing to do.

Payton again tried something new - bungy jumping. No, he didn't jump off a bridge. He just jumped up and down on a trampoline thing-a-ma-jig. He had fun with this, but he has a long way to go before he'll dunk a basketball.

By now we had enough and it was time to head home. We'll probably hit the carnival again before it leaves. We have three unused tokens to the bumper cars!

Arrr Matey!

I love Photoshop. The other day Kathleen asked Payton to show her his meanest look. The picture of him turned out well. I made a few edits and ended up with a nice new wallpaper for my computer. Click on the image to enlarge so you can see his scar.

Various pictures from the last few months. Most have been previously posted, but not all.

The Big Guy was sick this morning

Poor Payton, sick again. The big guy woke up early today with an upset tummy. The good thing is that it happened today, Sunday. He'll probably be okay to go to school tomorrow. The bad thing is that he missed his last lesson at ski school. Today the kids were to get their ski school medals. We'll have to try to get this for Payton after the fact.

The rest of us are unaffected so far. Not so worried about Kathleen and myself. We just hope Parker doesn't get sick again!
All the while Payton was feeling poorly, Kathleen was at his side caring for him. She still had time to snuggle with Parker.

Parker's spot

Parker is right at home sitting on his couch. He reads books and magazines all the while watching the TV. Mmmm, why is it that kids always seem to read things upside down? They have a 50-50 chance of getting it right and get it wrong all to often. Or, maybe he was just showing the magazine to this photographer?

A nice light steady rain...

It looks like winter is nearing its end around Neuchatel. Today is rainy and around 40°. The snow is melting fast. Sure, it will probably snow again, but unlikely to stick around long. We needn't go far to see the white stuff. It will hang around for a while longer in the higher elevations. Kathleen will have the pleasure of driving in and out of snow on her way to work for another month or so. I'm ready for warmer weather. No, actually I'm ready to wear less bulky clothing. The cooler weather is nice. It's the winter coats that are getting old.

Happy Valentine's Day

We had a nice Valentine's Day. Me and the boys each gave Kathleen a charm for her Christmas bracelet. We also got her a box of hamburger shaped candy which was actually quite good. There was an assortment of flavors - hamburger not being one of them.

This picture of Parker was taken last Friday. Right now is liking building with the duplo Lego's.

Play date for Payton

Payton had his school friend Hirad over for playtime today. He was so excited for this time to come. Arrangements were made yesterday afternoon and he could hardly wait. The boys played well together and little brother Parker didn't bother them much. Hirad stayed for about 2 hours. Afterward Payton and Parker sat down to watch a movie, but they just couldn't hang.

Payton at ski school

After Kathleen and Payton came home, Kathleen baked us some really good peanut butter cookies! If you want 'em here you gotta bake 'em yourself.

Sick little boy

Wheeewww! Looks like Parker is a well little boy now. Last Monday afternoon while sitting in his car seat he opened his mouth and out came a mess. Fortunately he isn't a projector yet. For the next four days he would vomit here and there. He didn't eat or drink a whole lot. He slowly got better and yesterday was his first day not to vomit. Today is going well. He is happy and active with an appetite.

Payton really surprised us Thursday night. Kathleen, Payton and Parker were in the bathroom brushing their teeth. Parker went blaaaaaaaaaaaa. Kathleen took him to another room to clean him up. While she was doing that, Payton - all on his own - cleaned up Parker's vomit. Payton has such a good heart.

Right now Kathleen and Payton are at ski school. Kathleen took a camera so maybe we'll have some pictures to post a little later.
